In a press conference, the municipal president Javier Castellón Fonseca announced the activities to be carried out within the framework of the World Pedestrian Day that is commemorated on August 17.
In this regard, a commemorative event called “El Peatón es Primero” will be held next Sunday, August 18, which will take place on Mexico Avenue, between Morelos and Zaragoza streets from 8 am to 1 pm, so it will remain said part of the avenue closed to vehicular traffic.
“We are going to hold a multimodal event, where we want to invite families to enjoy Mexico Avenue recreationally, which will open only to pedestrians, cyclists and children who bring skates and tricycles; This mobilization has the objective of spreading the rights we have as pedestrians and the importance of exercising our priority in the use of the public space of the city, the event will have the participation of groups, civil associations, companies and municipal government agencies, which throughout the day they will carry out activities for the enjoyment of the attendees, ”said Castellón Fonseca.
They will be artistic presentations where the Tepic City Ballet stands out; In addition, workshops, exhibitions, sports and recreational activities and there will be an exhibition of pets for adoption.
